Mud, Sweat & Gears
Website, Ecommerce & Advertising
I have worked with Paul at Mud, Sweat & Gears for over 5 years. During that time I have rebuild his website at least 4 times. MSG is a locally owner and operated bicycle, snowboard and ski shop. The original store is in Sherwood Park but the business has grown to three stores. There is the Spruce Grove location and the Red Deer location. Both new stores are run by employees of the original Sherwood Park store, its a real family affair. At the moment, even my brother works there
The reason for changing the site so often is due to the changing nature of the sporting goods industry. At first, things were simple. People wouldn’t expect a lot from a shop’s website. As the business grew, however, the glaring need for an online catalog became quite evident. With the addition of that catalog we saw increased traffic and an opportunity to cater to our community. Today the site is home to 100’s of bikes and other products as well as a vibrant blog with stories and sales.
In the early days I was providing the store with all their graphic and web needs. I would regularly create in-store signage, billboards, window covers, graphics for apparel, and the odd vehicle wrap. I learned a lot working at the store. I have since moved on to a less involved position and basically only manage the website. I’ll create the odd t-shirt here and there though, just for fun.
I update the inventory on the website regularily and try an pop into one of the three stores as often as I can. I encourage you to visit if you’re interested in the bike/board/ski scene, these guys know what they’re doing.
